ORT in Czech Republic

Operational Organisation

 CZECH REPUBLIC

ORT began activities in 1947. In the two years before they were closed down by the authorities, ORT had trained 650 students in 32 courses. It returned to the Czech Republic in 1996, establishing a computer laboratory in partnership with the Education and Culture Centre of Prague.

Since 2005, ORT has partnered with the Lauder School of Prague, establishing a computer laboratory at the school. The school’s 300-plus students take part in World ORT programmes focused on STEM subjects. Students and teachers also attend World ORT teacher training seminars and student summer schools where they learn additional skills and meet peers from the ORT global network.
