As Israel faced a record number of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, World ORT Kadima Mada students huddled together last night in shelters near their dormitories at the Kfar Silver youth village.
This morning, the entire village has been evacuated and the students are currently travelling to safe locations around Israel.
The village is just 13 kilometers from the Gaza border, and on the outskirts of Ashkelon, where authorities reported a number of direct rocket hits on civilian targets.
Our students have only seconds to reach the shelters at the youth village.
Avi Ganon, World ORT Director General and CEO, said: “This is a hard time for the State of Israel and Kfar Silver.
“The fundraising needs for building shelters in Kfar Silver is critical for saving lives. I’m sure that with your help we can succeed in this very important project.
“We hope to get back to normal as soon as possible.”
As we pray for calm and peace in the region, please support our students and teachers at this difficult time.
We need to raise $100,000 to help us provide another shelter close to the Kfar Silver dormitories.
