Compilation of the laws and discussions of the Amoraim in Eretz Israel, mainly in the academy of Tiberias. It was started in the academy of R. Johanan and its final form was completed around the beginning of the 5th century CE. We do not know who were the final editors, but the most important in the sixth and last generation of Amoraim in Eretz Israel were R. Yose bar Abin and his son, R. Samuel. The Jerusalem Talmud, arranged in 39 tractates, was first printed in Venice, during the 16th century. (15.772)
