The Mataderos Synagogue

The synagogue is found in the Mataderos area of Buenos Aires. With the help of the ORT Technical School, students restoration works were carried out in the synagogue and it was re-inaugurated on Yom Kippur 1995. The chazan(cantor, whois only 25 years old, is assisted in readin the Torah by a ninety year old member of the Synagogue who is nicknamed "the computer" because he seems to remember all names and events related to the congragation. The Synagogue has a spendid collection of old Jewish books in its library.
